[91] NO 57938 91140 S bank of Water of Birse

Returned this way from Peters Hill. I seemed to find little bits of animal track / path quite easily, but the bracken is down now, so I guess that makes a difference.

I came here on my way to Peter Hill. As Dave says the path is pretty overgrown in places. Which is a shame because it is lovely running along by the river. I didn't really stop and find this checkpoint but would have ran past it and that is good enough in my book. I think running it in this direction is better.

Apologies for the out of focus picture but you can see the rope swing. Didn't try it today but plan on going back with Hannah and giving it a go.

Came on here from Peter Hill (P89). Came down the path on the west of Glaspits Burn, but this doesn't go where you would expect from the map. It ends up at a ford over the river, without crossing the Laird's Burn. From here it is quite difficult to find the path along the south of the river. I think there is a better alternative if you cut right earlier, but I wasn't paying attention. The path is in any case much more overgrown than it used to be. Lots of bracken. It is still a very pretty stretch of river, but I guess not many people come this way any more.
