Photo of the year? up here on thursday night with head torches via Queens Hill (not sure if we got to the challange point, was the highest point around, but couldnt see much for mist- will have to come back and investigate!!!). def reached the top of mortlich though.
Of course we reached the top of Queen's Hill. Or at least somewhere that looked like the top given the mist and total darkness. There's nothing to beat the "Do the Challenge in the dark" Challenge. Next week we're going up Black Craig. Or at least somewhere that looks the same in the dark. Anyone who doesn't come is a sissy.

Carried on here from Queen's Hill, in the obvious way. Miserable weather, only about 5 degrees and raining. The bracken was very wet. Very grey view but the climb is a good test as always.

I can't believe I haven't been up Mortlich since the beginning of April. This is one of my favourite little hills in Deeside and the good basis of a medium / long run from Dess. The steep ascent up to the summit is one of my fitness benchmark's - if I can't run all the way I get very depressed!
I spotted another runner as I turned up the landrover track from the SE and spent most of the way up trying to work out who it was. I found Gary at the top, for the first time, and he looked slightly dis-believing when I told him there was a great view (usually). Nothing but Scotch mist today. Returned home via Queens' Hill [76]

Ran up here via Queen's Hill from Aboyne Castle. There is a pile of stones on top which is probably Archeology. Good view over Aboyne after a short but testing climb. It is possible to run to Craiglich from here, but navigation is a bit tricky and it takes longer than you might expect. Took about 1.15 the way we came.
