31/10/07 Dave H+ Jon
Came here on a short jog from home. Didn't bring the camera because I've been here lots of times and I'd forgotten that Jon was still a few points short of the full century (to coin a phrase). There is a lot of building activity here now - it looks as if a new house is going to be built just NE of the ruin, and a large area is fenced off - come here before it is spoiled! We approached from the south - there is a waymarked path to the top of Ferneyhowe (the fort marked on the map is nothing to bother about), then go north along the fence then down and across some forestry, then up past some cairns. There are a few fences to climb, but it's a good little run. Came back down the track via Braehead then across the heather due east via a cairn at about 472038 which has a remarkably good view for such a small hill.
Came in from the north at NJ436 032 - you have to go through a closed gate and someone's yard but they were very friendly - gate's only closed to keep (harmless) dog in.
Now that we're at home and compare pictures with Dave's we clearly went to the 'other' derelict house at Corrachree. The two are only about 100 yards apart but this one is the first one you reach on our route. Oops

Came up here from home - takes about 15 mins. Carried on up Corrachree hill on a beautiful evening. It's also possible to get here from the west on a track from Logie Coldstone. We descended off the hill to the north east. There is a "symbol stone" in a field but I must admit I couldn't see a symbol on it.
Kathy wanted to buy this before she bought Strathweltie.
