Parked at the top car park in Glen Tanar then followed Dave's route from the tracks to the summit. Seemed pretty good going, but I was a bit horrified to realise I'd been out an hour by the time I reached the top. This meant it was a race effort most of the way back to pick up Ewan on time from the creche. Took me 100' total from the top car park - never mind Braeloine ;-(

Another Tuesday, another big heathery hill. Did 4 2 minute intervals from the usual starting point to the bridge, then 7 1 minuters up the track going SW to the gate at the edge of the forest. There Dave S, Iain and Drew bottled out leaving the 5 of us to continue to the summit. It looked as if we were going to be waist deep in heather the whole way, but there is a mown track that starts just after the gate and goes at least half way up. After that the heather is much shorter. Still a long session though, nearly 2 hours altogether.

I got this one a couple of weeks ago. I parked at the Braeloine car park and ran the usual Tuesday evening start until crossing over the bridge. I then turned left and started climbing. I left the path just after a small stream and found the ascent of Clachan Yell tough going. The heather is quite deep and the going steep. By this time it was wet, windy and cold but I persevered and got to the top even climbing the rocky outcrop at the top. I descended slightly to the West of the way I came up and found the heather not quite so deep. A good run about 1h 40 I think.
