Biked up from the Glen Muick junction - a bit of a slog but worth it for the views of Lochnagar and Ben Avon, and the descent. Beautiful day with sunshine and no wind. Had to be a bit careful because of ice, but it was mostly ok. There is a track all the way from the col to the summit of Pannanich (only the first bit is marked on the map). All rideable, apart from a few boggy bits that were icy.

Another Challenge in the Dark point. Beautiful evening, cold but clear and no wind. Ran up from the memorial at the start of the Glen Muick road. This is probably the shortest route. Go up the track signposted to Mount Keen for about 500m, then take a path off to the left, past a sign saying Private. Keep on the until you get to another big track, and turn left towards Glen Muick house. Follow this to the end of the woods on the right where there is a big gate and wooden fence. Climb it and go diagonally up to the right. Cross two streams, climb a steep bank and you are on a good track that goes right to the summit. The only thing to remember is to turn right near the top at a junction where there is a pit on the left. It only took 40 mins in the dark. From the top there is a great view, though admittedly mostly of stars tonight.
1/5/07 Dave H. Magnificent weather yet again so yet again I failed to have a rest day. Ran here from the North Deeside road at Cambus o'May bridge. Crossed the bridge and followed the path to the S Deeside road, then just ran up through the forest. Easy going to the edge of the trees, then there are lots of deer tracks through the heather. Where there are no tracks there are rock slabs to run on. After a while it flattens out and there is a decent path all the way to the summit. It's a very pleasant ridge run, with good views up and down Deeside. There are lots of false tops, but don't be fooled, the real summit has a trig point.

Continued on to Pannanich from [57]. Returned to the land-rover track and then turned right, which continues all the way up on to the Pannanich ridge and the summit, with good running all the way. From the top I then headed down to Creag Coillich [59].
