Continued on to here along the edge of the forest from Craig of Loinmuie [51]. There was a big herd of deer out on the open, making some serious rutting noises. Returned by the lovely track down to Loch Ullachie.

Resting the legs for bennachie tomorrow so a quick walk up here and the knock seemed like a good idea. Followed Daves route to the top, pleasent walk with good views over to lochnagar then from the top I took the direct route down to the loch. Easy enough going but be warned... I have never pulled so many tics off my legs before, dozens of them! do they nest in groups or something? if they do then i walked right through tic city... straight home and into a bath with a bottle of dettol for me!!! sorry, no pic of this one, couldnt stop for flies and midge.

15/05/07 Karen and Colin. Cycled from Ballater along to the gate at loch Ullachie and then took the landrover track up between Tom an lagain and the summit. Through the heather to the top returning by Strathgirnoc.

30/04/07 Dave H. I was going to have a rest day today, but the weather was too good (again). Ran up here from the south Deeside road near Loch Ullachie. There is a locked (surely illegally?) gate then a lovely grassy track past the loch and up to the edge of the forest. This is marked on the OS map but it continues straight on and winds around the hillside until it gradually peters out at a tiny quarry only about 100m from the top. The last bit is quite hard to find but there should be no more than 200m of heather to get through. Excellent views in all directions.
