Parked just past the church at Aberarder and exchanged child and car with Jon at the end of his run. Ran out the track past Balmore and across the burn, then headed fairly directly for the top. A bit rough going through the heather, but otherwise easy enough. Continued from here to do a circuit of Glen Feardar, taking in Craig Leek on my return.

Cycled from Ballater up to Inver and then turned right up to the farm. Spoke to the farmer who reckoned the best approach was to go straight up to the ridge which was ok. From the top we headed straight down to the old landrover track which was overgrown at the start but a pleasant path back to our bikes at the farm.

This is a very small hill but it is a really great viewpoint. An unusual view up Glen Feardar to Craig Leek, across the Dee to Lochnagar and down to Balmoral. Only took 25 mins up and 15 down as well. I parked at the turn off the Aberarder by Inver and ran up the track to Tullochcoy, then tried to find the path marked on the map going north but couldn't see it so just headed off in the right direction then ran up through the heather when I got out of the trees. It was more or less pathless and not particularly easy. Came back down the ridge where there was a trace of a path but still lots of heather and the fences around the farm are difficult to climb (they must have got a very big roll of barbed wire very cheaply). Still, it was worth it for the view.
