[96] NO 64288 94295 Hill of Tillylair

2/12/07 Gary

Hannah was orienteering again so I had some spare time to go up here from the shooting Greens car park. It is a great path to cycle and although I have cleaned it in the past I was no where near today - a combination of low skill and slidey tree roots. Was going to try and do Hill of Goauch as well but ran out of time.
Check out this great view!

Passed by here on the way to Hill of Gouach. I'm with D+E - there certainly wasn't much of a view from the top today, unless you're into flattened forests. This picture was the best I could do (I reckon Dave cheated and took his photo from the path).

14/09/07 Dave H. I started at the car park at Shooting Greens, same as E+D, but biked to the top of the hill. There is a sign saying 'walkers only' at the start, so I realise this was very naughty of me, and I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone else, but it's quite a fun path. Don't know what D+E mean by there not being much there, there's a great view out towards Clachnaben and Mount Battock.

Decided to have a bit of a day out around Potarch area (hey the points here can't be that hard can they? read on)

Started from Shooting Greens by bike along nice track up towards Hill of Tillylair. We followed one of the walking paths to go in at NO638 943 (where we left the bikes) but, with hindsight, if you are going on to Hill of Gouach then it makes sense to carry on to No 645 943 and go in from the eastern end.

Saw two big cats on the way up - well one was actually a little cat and the other was yellow with a bucket - don't suppose BBC Scotland would be interested.

Not much up here so you'll have to have a photo of us.

On to 97
