Followed the traditional Tues night route in reverse to the top of the intervals hill, then picked up the path followed by Dave et al. I think this if my favourite of the new routes I've found via the Challenge points, with only a couple of short stretches near the top where the path is badly overgrown. I didn't manage to find a great descent off the top, but once I reached the plantation I picked up a lovely extraction lane that took me all the way back down, coming out near the N corner of the forest / open area. Forgot my camera, so no photos.
19/06/07 Dave H, Kathy, Dave O, Gary, Warren and PeterThere was a distinct reluctance to do any intervals tonight, so we bagged this point instead. Ran along the interval route to the bridge (467938) then turned left and went straight up a ride. Very steep and heathery,
but there is some sort of track most of the way. From the top however, there is a very nice path which leads right along the ridge to the top of the intervals hill at 484924 (actually it joins the track just about 10m south of the Firmounth junction). It's a bit indistinct in places but it's quite good running. If anyone can find a decent way off the north end of the hill it would make an interesting alternative way back from an interval session.
