6/09/07 Karen + Sheila. Carried on from point 10 over to Mam na Cairn and then Iutharn Bheag. Down ridge at the end and back to bikes in Glen Ey.
30/07/07 Dave H + Gary
We challenge anyone to find a less obvious route to this hill. Not wanting to take the boring landrover track up Glen Ey we took the extremely difficult landrover track from Spittal of Glenshee to the top of Glas Tulaichean. This will be familiar to anyone who has done the race up it. It is quicker to run up, but very much quicker to bike down. Took 90 mins up from the Spittal hotel, and about 20 back down. From the top it is only 30 mins to the challenge point, so 2 hours in total. Sunny weather and a great view, but an arctic wind. Kept my fleece on all day, which I don't think I've done for a hill run in July before. It's a nice run down the grassy ridge north from the summit of Tulaichean, then a bit boggy and heathery but not at all difficult. Even this year however there is no drinking water, which caused a bit of a problem towards the end of the run. Went on from here to Beinn Iutharn Mhor. In the picture Gary is demonstrating that he can walk up hills without touching the ground. Beinn Iutharn Bheag is behind him.
